Children Left Behind improves the lives of children through its four core programs: Medical, Education, Housing and Humanitarian Aid. These programs are coordinated through our mission partners, an innovative network that connects children in need to the people and organizations prepared to help them.
We are partnered with a well-established organization, Child Guidance Center in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States in South India. The Child Guidance Center encompasses 14 boarding schools* for children with disabilities, providing lodging and meals as well as medical care and education appropriate to the ability of each student. A 15th boarding school is currently under construction.
We are working with Child Guidance Center to assist in providing funding, education and medical training, and other assistance needed to improve the lives of children and their families. We will be providing housing and education for orphans. We will be taking children from poverty or low caste, backward communities, and providing them with education and vocational training so they can return to work and improve their communities and families. We will also provide equipment, medical care, therapies and education to children (and their families) with physical or intellectual disabilities.
There are some resources available – food, expertise and money – to help children, but few of these resources, either emergency or long-term care, are accessible to those most in need.
Children Left Behind invests in childhood – every day, in times of crisis and for our future. We give children a healthy start, the opportunity to learn, and protection from harm. By transforming children’s lives now, we change the course of their future and ours. We want to see children in a place where they have elevated themselves beyond survival, where they may flourish and have a chance to live with dignity and purpose.
